It started with a trip to a far-away land…

On a journey to Egypt, Lynda Oliver watched local artisans work with alabaster and other stones like marble and onyx. They painstakingly carved, honed and polished each stone vessel, called a “luminaire.” Each one had its own unique color and textural beauty. No two were alike. And when lit, they ignited the room with a beautiful glow from within the stone, illuminating the ancient veins and natural variations in all of their glory.

Inspired, Oliver sought to create a natural multi-sensory candle, unlike any other. Artisans carve the luminaires and we fill them with creamy coconut-apricot wax and luxurious scents – made with natural oils and essences from nature’s flowers, woods and spices. The final touch is a wood wick.

Vesperre was an idea that had been smoldering for years. And in case you’re wondering, vesper means evening star. It also happens to be the name of Oliver’s wayward cat, who has easily spent eight of her nine lives. We hope you enjoy the light we bring into your home.
